SEPHY
Sephy is a graduate student with masochist tendencies (hence her decision to pursue a career as a historian). Currently, her time is being eaten up by TA-ing, writing, and translating the works of a bunch of dead guys from the eighteenth century. Sephy believes the secrets of life are contained in Terry Pratchett novels and if they aren't, they should be. There are any number of reasons for this but most people agree it's because she fried her brain in a freak paper writing accident. Historian's craft is a hazardous trade. She speaks in the third person only because it's more agreeable to the other voices in her head.
Warnings
The Sephy would like to state here and now that she does not own any of the fandoms below. They are the property of whatever corporations/authors/mangaka created them and she is merely borrowing them for sinful and licentious purposes. *coughs* She is making no profit off these characters or concepts.
Also, the Sephy would further like to state that many of her fics are adult oriented. That is, they're rated NC-17 and contain sex, violence, and strong language. That means it's going to get ugly and if this is not your cup of tea, please hit the back button to return to the main listing.
Angel the Series
Angel, as many of you already know, is the sister series of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. (Or is it more correct to say brother series?) Anyway, like Buffy it's insidious in that the characters and circumstances lend themselves well to almost any plot. Plus, yanno, there's the little thing of "that handsome, dark-clad hunk of a night creature." In many ways darker and more adult than Buffy, this spin-off of Joss-verse never stood a chance of me leaving it alone. Because, yanno, Joss-verse.
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer is probably my favorite show of all time, anime or otherwise. I caught the very first episode way back in the spring of 1997 (I think that's right) and was hooked from there on in. Deftly managing horror and humor, real life and fantasy, BtVS did more to influence me than any other fandom I've worked on. Joss proved you could write intelligently for American television and tell a story that any age group could identify with, cross genre and otherwise. And I'm sad to say, my regular speech patterns are now littered with Joss-isms..
Blue Sun -- A crossover with Yami no Matsuei. Hot on the trail of a dangerous killer, Tsuzuki and Hisoka must team up with a literal minded vengeance demon whose past ties with the division in the most unlikely of ways. (Currently R-ish for lime, language, angst, and violence ~ mainly Hisoka x Tsuzuki, see author's notes for other pairings)
CLAMP
I blame my obession with CLAMP on Kitty who got me into X/1999 She spammed me for over two months with pretty pics and fics and telling me about the manga until I caved and went out and bought it (with help from my honey) -- all of it. And of course, as Kitty intended, I feel in love with Subaru x Kamui. From there, I progressed (and dragging Amet along with me) into every other CLAMP series I could find.
...Okay, you can quit your cackling now, Kitty.

-->Series: Under This Flooded Sky
Cowboy Bebop is one of those fandoms I thought I'd never write for at all. The series itself is beautifully done, the plot fast-paced and engaging and the characters easily identifiable. However, I was deep in the middle of my Gundam Wing phase when I saw the series so I wasn't too inclined to write anything for it until I caught a rerun of the episode The Real Folk Blues, part II and voila! Instant fic!
Doctor Who is one of those sci-fi fandoms that you get into and never quite get over or leave. My obsession with it started in high school when Sci-fi channel was running the Tom Baker episodes and has remained with me today. I'm an avid fan of the new series and I think Christopher Eccleston is quite possibly the best Doctor since Baker himself. And then there's Captain Jack ...
Fruit's Basket is one of my favorite anime of all time and now that I've said that, it's also another series I never thought I'd write for, mostly because it's so well-plotted there seems no room. I'm slowly overcoming this block, in a large part thanks to the nudgings of Gaki (and her Ayame fetish) and Live Journal drabble memes in which people keep requesting Fruba fics.
Gravitation. It's probably the most easily recognizable and well-known yaoi series out there and why not? Shindou Shuuichi is one of the more endearing characters in animedom and he certainly makes no bones about his love for Yuki Eiri. Gravitation is splashy, in a surprisingly deep and moving way. I highly recommend it if you've not yet seen it.
Gundam Wing. Wing is probably the fandom I wrote the most for and stayed the longest in. I got into GW just after I finished my Tomorrow People phase, in desperate need of something new to sink my teeth in and this show came along at just the right time. The characters (particularly Heero and Duo) have a special place in my heart and I can't think of a more pleasant fandom experience than the one I had in Wing-dom. Gundam Wing is also the one fandom I hope to come back to one day and finish up my unfinished works in.
There can be only one. One of the more memorable catchphrases in movie (and television) history, Highlander was one of my first fandoms and it appealed to me both as a fantasy series and on a more historical level. Also, I adored Christopher Lambert as the Immortal Connor MacLeod. I really should come back and write another piece or two for this series at some point.
House is one of my newest loves. I adore Hugh Laurie and the entire crew of Princeton-Plainsboro. I only wish I were that clever and cutting and can only hope that the show will be a mainstay for years to come.
Somewhere, somehow, Tolkien is spinning in his grave. From what I've read, in his lifetime he was never too keen on the popularity (particularly with his American fans) of his epic trilogy and I can only wonder and wince at what he would think of the renewed interest and zeal it's receiving thanks to a certain set of movies. For me (having read all of Tolkien's works first), Tolkien was something sacred and not to be touched by fandom -- indeed, it was beyond fandom. Until my fifth rewatching of the Fellowship of the Ring in theaters, my yaoi fangirl eye spied some slashy bits between Frodo and Legolas. I was doomed. That's all I can say. I'm still not quite sure how all these happened.
The Pretender is one of those fandoms I was trying out as I was coming off my Tomorrow People experience in the hopes of finding a new home to settle into. While I didn't linger very long, I did grow fond enough of the show to write a small vignette for it. And does anyone else remember Michael T. Weiss when he was on the NBC's Dark Shadows?
Ronin Warriors (a.k.a Yorodien Samurai Troopers) was the first anime fandom I ever wrote for. It doesn't have the distinction of being my first anime series (that was Ranma 1/2) but it was something I enjoyed greatly in my pre-Wing days. There's just something about boys running around in mystical armor trying to save the world that just sets me a writin.'
I dearly love Kenshin. It's got the right mix of action-adventure, romance, and history to warm my little fangirl heart. I find the character of Himura Kenshin intriguing, in his own way with as many demons as Joss Whedon's Angel and it's something I hope I can explore more in the future.
Shojou Kakumei Utena
Utena, quite simply, is the crack. Lush, gorgeous settings, epic storylines, rampant symbolism, and rampant yaoi/yuri. What more could you ask for?
Weiss Kreuz
Weiss Kreuz in all its varied incarnations is my most current obsession, the one that's shredding my brain up and feeding on the itty-bitty pieces. I remember not being terribly impressed with the show the first time I rented the dvd (back in my Wing days) and it wasn't until later when someone gave me the entire series fansubbed that I had an epiphany -- Aya + Omi = the pretty angst and epic-y pairing of all time. And thus it was good. As a random side note, after watching Gluhen, I picked up two more of the Weiss boys in one of the more cracked pairings ever (Ken x Sena). All I can say is beware Ken-Ken for he is evil. And loud. And never, ever shuts up.

Prologue
Wolf's Rain
I first heard about Wolf's Rain from a friend of mine a couple months back and the premise sounded great -- another fantasy series by the great Yoko Kanno? I was sold before I'd seen it. Luckily for me, WR turned out to be even better than I could have hoped for, turning me into a raging Tsume x Toboe fangirl with in five episodes. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a lot of Wolf's Rain fan fiction out there. Hopefully, this will change over time.
Yami no Matsuei
I ended up with Yami no Matsuei as the result of a vcd trade and the first thing that struck me when I watched the series was how much I adored Hisoka. He was the first anime character since GW that I had totally fallen in love with at first sight. In fact, I loved Hisoka so much that I squeed about him over several phone conversations with Amet. Who was then promptly sucked in when I sent her the series. Despite the fact that I've moved on, I have all ideas that I'll come back to it eventually -- especially seeing as Hisoka and Tsuzuki have taken up permanent residence in both my brain and heart.
