Emptiness
A Revolutionary Girl Utena Drabble
by Amet

He thinks he knew something real once.

Perhaps long ago when the air still lashed cool and soothing across his face, before the lingering stench of Ohtori's master settled over this place, destroying any sense of the ground beneath his feet in one flash of devastation. He wonders if there was something he might have done in that long forgotten Before to deserve this aching numbness, but wondering is a privilege he does not often indulge.

He has his faith to preserve, and eternity.

Which he knows in his heart is only real in the face of such echoing emptiness.
